Watermelon vine decline (WVD) caused by Squash vein yellowing virus (SqVYV) has led to severe losses since its identification in 2005. Despite intermittent impacts since 2012, significant outbreaks occurred in 2016 and 2017. Experiments in 2018 tested Actigard and insecticide treatments to manage WVD. Results showed no significant differences among treatments, likely due to high disease pressure. Further studies are planned to explore effective management strategies.
