On March 7, 2025, the NWA and other representatives from the food and agriculture community sent a letter to Secretary Kennedy, Secretary Rollins, and Administrator Zeldin. Our goal is to urgently collaborate with the Make America Healthy Again Commission to improve health outcomes for Americans and protect vulnerable populations. The letter addresses unjustified food safety criticisms and urges adherence to scientific standards. It highlights the importance of pesticides and biotechnology for affordable food and public health. The Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) is crucial for safety, especially for vulnerable groups, and limiting generally recognized as safe (GRAS) ingredients could cause food shortages. We aim to collaborate with the Make America Healthy Again Commission to improve health outcomes and protect vulnerable populations. |
